"What are you playing? I know I've heard that tune before."
Julian lowers his instrument, sighing a little. He looks up into the branches up the tree he's sitting under, where Frederick is lounging and looking down at him, swinging his purple top hat in the night breeze.
"You have? I'm not all that certain I can say the same," he returns, wistfully. He's been trying all evening, but he just can't seem to get it right…
"Maybe we should head back," he adds, gazing ahead again.
"I told you, Julian, time stops in Milliways," Frederick lilts. "We've nothing to worry about. We can stay here as long as we'd like."
Julian leans back against the tree, holding his flute in his lap. It's silent for a while before he brings it up to his lips again, and continues to play the song that he can't quite seem to get off of his mind, even as it fades from his memory with every passing note.
